159th Grand Lodge Convention

June 30 – July 3, 2024 ∙ Austin, Texas

The 2024 Grand Lodge Convention will be held in Austin, TX and the Indiana Elks Association will be housed at:

JW Marriott Austin Hotel
110 E. 2nd Street, Austin, TX 78701
Telephone: 512-474-4777

We are in a hotel with 7 other States: Colorado, North Carolina, Ohio, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

This is a non-smoking hotel. Currently, they do not offer a shuttle service to or from the airport.

Room Rate (single or double or triple occupancy) is: $135.00 + 17.61% tax = a total of $158.77 per night.

Self-parking is available, and the cost fluctuates daily. We will be given a 20% discount on parking with the maximum being $54 per day minus the 20%.

This year we are making things a little easier for everyone! Just like for our Spring Convention you can make your Grand Lodge room reservations on the IEA website (indianaelks.org). If you choose to, you can also download and print a paper form and send it in, but the website is very easy to use.

All Elks planning on attending are urged to send in their reservations as soon as possible as rooms are filling up quickly.

The cutoff date for hotel reservations is May 21, 2024. Reservations received after this date will be accepted based on availability. Once the rooms are filled any overflow will be housed at another hotel chosen by the grand lodge convention department.

The average room will have a coffee maker and a mini refrigerator. The hotel has 2 restaurants which open for, breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there is a Starbucks. There are also several restaurants within walking distance.

Our hotel has a wonderful rooftop pool with a poolside bar and cabanas for rent.

Indiana will again have a fantastic Hospitality Suite. The hours for the hospitality room have yet to be determined at this time. Updates will be posted on the IEA website. We are asking for $35 per person to assist with the expense of the Hospitality Suite which you pay using the button below, or you can pay me by sending me a paper registration form.

Each Exalted Ruler or Alternate or any member are asked to assist in bartending duties sometime in the hospitality room. Your District Deputy will be assigning you a time to help in the room. Over the past few years, this has worked very well, and many ERs found it to be fun. We will also have greeters at the door to welcome people to the Indiana hospitality room. We are again having 2 districts host the suite each day by supplying food and workers for their day. Saturday June 29 will be hosted by the State President and Vice Presidents, Sunday June 30 will be hosted by the West Central and East Central Districts, Monday July 1 will be hosted by the Northeast and Northwest Districts, and Tuesday July 2nd will be hosted by the Southwest and Southeast Districts. Theme days for the suite are being planned.

EVERYONE will be required to wear their convention credential badges when visiting the hospitality room. Most other states require you to wear your badge to enter their hospitality room as well.

The Austin Convention Center is only 2 blocks from our hotel! It is a very easy walk for those who choose to walk. Shuttles will also be available to all Grand Lodge functions. Pre-registration for Austin opens at the beginning of April on the Elks.org website. Attendees will pick up credentials at the convention center exhibition hall starting on Friday afternoon. Again, Grand Lodge is asking that everyone pre-register for the convention and to also make event reservations.

Attending seminars is being encouraged and last year they were very well attended. Seminar schedules will be listed on the Elks website after April 2024.

The Sunday afternoon Opening Ceremony, Daily Business Sessions, and the Closing session will take place at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78701.

The Opening Ceremonies (open to all members and guests) will take place on Sunday afternoon, June 30 from 4pm to 6pm.

The Daily Business Sessions will be held Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 am till 12 noon (estimated end time). Wednesday will run from 8:00 am till 11:00 am.

The Seminar for District Deputies Designates will be held on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, both at 12:45 pm, at the Austin Convention Center.

As time draws closer to the Grand Lodge Convention, members should log into the Grand Lodge website frequently and check the Grand Lodge Convention Section as updates and information will be posted by the Grand Lodge.
